Nequel Burwell serves as an assistant director of Residential Life at Mississippi University. In addition to her professional work within student affairs, Nequel also serves as one of the founders and leaders of BLKSAP, an online community for Black Professionals within Student Affairs. In her role with BLKSAP, she provided mentorship to many student affair professionals within the community.
