Quiana has been with DePaul University since October 2015. In her current role as Associate Director within the Department of Residential Education, Quiana assists with the oversight of daily operations, collaborates closely with campus partners on educational initiatives, serves on a number of divisional and university wide committees, and supervises a portion of the Residence Director Staff who assist with providing support, develop, and crisis response to over 2500 students.
Originally from Gary, Indiana, Quiana left her hometown as a first generation college student to attend Indiana University-Bloomington where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health Administration (BSPH) with a Minor in Legal Studies and Master of Public Affairs (MPA) Degree with a double concentration in Public and Non-Profit Management.
Quiana has served as a Student Affairs professional for more than fifteen years, with previous experiences from University of Illinois at Chicago, Eastern Illinois University and Indiana University – Bloomington, centering her work in Housing/Residence Life, Student Leadership Programs, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Fund Development, and Social Justice and Diversity Initiatives. Quiana is actively involved with the Great Lakes Association of College and University Housing Officers (GLACUHO), Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education (NASPA) and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, INC.
As a Co-Founder of the Black Student Affairs Professionals (BLKSAP), an online community for Black Professionals serving within Student Affairs, she works closely with her team to provide a safe space for professionals to engage, find support, resources, and community within the world of higher education. Her passion/research areas include: career coaching, mentorship, etiquette training, First Generation College Student experience, advising, and identity development.
